Bologna International Airport

Is 1 hour and 30 minuts drive north of Rimini  and is the fourth most important international airport in Italy. It features scheduled flights to / from 91 international destinations, among which the most important daily flights to / from Frankfurt, London, Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam, Rome for intercontinental connections.

Discounted tickets for the daily Rimini Bologna Airport Shuttle can only be purchased at least two hours before the departure time.

IUFoST 2024 participants will be offered the possibility of reaching Rimini with Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca with dedicated discounts.
To take advantage of the offer you must be registered for the event and have a paper or electronic badge proving your registration!
The promotion is valid from the period September 5 – 14, 2024.

Tickets can be purchased to travel on Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca trains, in 1st and 2nd class, on the Business, Premium and Standard service levels. Regional, Intercity, Intercity Night trains and the Executive service level and lounge service are excluded. Booking changes, ticket changes and refunds are not permitted.

To get the discount please follow the procedure here below:

  • select the one-way or round-trip journey to Rimini 
  • select “see other offers” and, in the relevant drop-down menu of the “Offer” section, choose “Special Events”
  • enter the code “IEGRIMINI24” in the “Agreement code” field
  • select “Confirm”
  • follow the same procedure for the return journey

IUFOST 2024 participants  will be offered the possibility of purchasing 1st and 2nd class train tickets, couchettes and sleeping cars – with the exception of Excelsior cabins – for Intercity and Intercity Night trains having as destination/origin Rimini, with the reduction 30% calculated on the basic adult fare.

CONDITIONS OF ISSUANCE AND USE OF TICKETS
Discounted tickets can be purchased exclusively at Trenitalia Group Offices by sending the request up to 5 working days from the departure date to eventiIC@trenitalia.it or at Trenitalia partner travel agencies (https://www.trenitalia.com/it/information/travel-agencies.html ).
IUFoST 2024 participants must send, at the time of booking, to the Groups Office or to the Trenitalia partner travel agency, via e-mail, this application form and keep it for the entire duration of the trip. The purchase can be made exclusively in ticketless mode. Train tickets must concern travel to/from Rimini, RiminiFiera or Vicenza. No further reductions due for any other reason are applicable to the discounted price. Booking and ticket changes and refunds if the traveller cancels the trip are not permitted. Travelers in possession of a reduced ticket, found traveling on days and on trains other than those permitted, are regularized as not having a ticket.

Rimini has excellent connections with the rest of Italy and Europe via the motorway network. Rimini is on the A14 Milan to Bari motorway (connecting the North and the South of Italy). On the A14 from Rimini it is easy to link up with the A4 for Venice, the A22 for the Brenner Pass and the A1 for Florence, Rome and Naples.

In Rimini, everything is at your fingertips – the old town, a wide choice of hotels on the new seafront promenade, restaurants that cater for every need, a central station, and of course, the Palacongressi.

A modern and efficient urban network of minibuses, coaches and fast ecovehicles. Timetables at www.startromagna.it. Bus line 7 to the Palacongressi.

METROMARE is a zero emissions electric bus that connects Rimini and Riccione railway stations. It runs daily every 25 min. with 15 intermediate stops. You can get the Rimini Palacongressi from RIMINI STATION bus stop by renting a bike at the new BIKE PARK or by bus n. 7.

Rimini is a bike friendly city, with an increasing number of greenways and cycle paths. All hotels offer bicycles to their guests and the Municipality also offers a bike sharing service. Rimini station has a brand new Bike Park for renting and parking bicycles and includes a repair service. The entire area has recently been redeveloped to promote inter-modality between local public transport, railway services and the cycle and pedestrian tracks.

Rent a car for comfortable and time-saving trips both around the city and when exploring the local area. Taxi sharing is another practical alternative for going from the hotel to the Palacongressi.

Electric bike and scooters are a handy, low impact alternative that is becoming increasingly popular. BIT, Bird Rides Italy and Lime are the service providers in Rimini.
